Fulfillment Architectures: E-Commerce and the Exurban Landscape is a short book of writing, drawings, maps, and collected and collaged images exploring the impact of companies like Walmart and Amazon on the constructed environment. Chapters on Typology, Logistics, and Scale explore the automated fulfillment center as one of the most important building typologies as we transition into the fourth industrial revolution, defined by big data, autonomous robotics, and artificial intelligence. The work builds off scholars and architects such as Jesse LeCavalier, Rem Koolhaas, Benjamin Bratton, and Liam Young. The research book served as an test for my thesis Posthuman Architectures: Buildings Without Humans.
